Some people search for wisdom. Others for truth. Then there are those who search for views from toilets…

Adventure toileting in the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Adventure toileting in the Sacred Valley of the Incas

You are suspended in a purpose-built glass pod, clinging to the side of a cliff, 400m up a Peruvian mountain. Thank goodness there's a toilet! They say that spending the night in one of the Skylodge Adventure Suites is like sleeping in a Condor's nest. Unlike condors, of course, you can't fly. But you do wear a harness as you climb up to your pod and zipline back down to earth the following day, having spent the night sleeping on the edge of the world. Magnificent. The video above reveals more about the experience and includes a tantalising glimpse of the toilet - a bonafide loo with a view.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas - a.k.a. the Urubamba Valley - is high in the Andes. You’re down the valley from Macchu Picchu, near Aguas Calientes, and about an hour and a half from the ancient Incan capital of Cusco:

Proof from Google Earth that the Skylodge Adventure Suites are literally on a cliff:
