A few years ago, I, Luke Barclay, embarked on an unlikely mission. While Alan Partridge said that he wanted to understand man’s inhumanity to man, and make a television programme about it, I decided to find the world’s best views from toilets, and write a book about it…

I visited many of the toilets myself. I climbed mountains, I hiked into canyons, I had altercations with toilet attendants. It was quite an adventure. I went to some amazing places and met some fascinating people. Yes, it was about toilets (obviously) but it was also about the locations, the people and the history.

After A Loo With a View was published (by Virgin Books), to my delight people started getting in touch with their toilet tip-offs and photographs. Some kind of global movement dedicated to views from toilets was stirring and I wrote a second book on the subject (also published by Virgin), called Good Loo Hunting.

And now the search goes on! I set up this website to share some of the best toilets from the books and write about new discoveries. And, who knows, I might even start introducing content that is not, repeat NOT, about toilets. Radical I know, but it can still be watched/read in bathrooms - taking all necessary precautions of course…
